Eight students from the Marketing & Logistics Management program have qualified for the DECA state conference, which will be held March 11-12, 2025.
Eight Eastland-Fairfield Career & Technical Schools Marketing & Logistics Management satellite program students have qualified for the DECA State Conference by placing or winning their respective regional competition.
Of the eight students who qualified for the DECA state conference, four were crowned regional champions in their event, including three individuals and one team. The top finishers and state qualifiers are listed below.
Riley Pettay (Sr., Groveport Madison) – 1st Place, Hotel Management
Jaila Clark (Jr., Groveport Madison) – 1st Place, Human Resource Management
Ty Cooper (So., Groveport Madison) & Andy Jiang (Groveport Madison) – 1st Place, Hospitality Team
Papa Ndaw (Jr., Groveport Madison) – 1st Place, Principles of Hospitality
Alexa Rosales (Jr., Groveport Madison) – 2nd Place, Principles of Marketing
Jaliya Byrd (Jr., Groveport Madison) & Arame Yade (Groveport Madison) – 2nd Place, Travel and Tourism Marketing
State qualifiers will compete at the Ohio DECA State Competition on March 11-12 at the Hyatt Regency in Columbus, Ohio, where they will put their skills to the test against top competitors from across the state for the opportunity to advance to the DECA National Conference in Orlando, Florida.
Five additional students medaled in their respective events and will serve as state alternates: Cameron Trogdon (Jr., Groveport Madison), Emily Sambrano-Cabezas (Jr., Groveport Madison), Jaivion Simpson (Jr., Groveport Madison), Steve Hele (Jr., Pickerington Central), and Baohe Huang (Jr., Groveport Madison).
DECA is a premier organization that prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality, and management. Through competitions like these, students gain valuable experience, networking opportunities, and career-ready skills. There are more than 5,400 DECA members in Ohio, alone.
The Marketing & Logistics Management satellite program is one of eight satellite programs that Eastland-Fairfield offers to 11th and 12th-grade students. The program is also the only one that belongs to the national DECA career-technical student organization.
