Eastland-Fairfield will host another series of Community Conversations throughout the 2023-24 school year covering a variety of important communal topics.

Eastland-Fairfield Career & Technical Schools has announced that it will host its Community Conversations during the 2023-24 school year. The first of five sessions will be held on September 27 at Eastland Career Center and will address the Fentanyl crisis.

The Community Conversations series was instituted during the 2022-23 school year with the intent to address important topics and issues that impact our students, families, staff, and communities. This year, five unique conversations have been scheduled, inviting local and national topic experts to address drug and alcohol use, sex trafficking, self-defense, and financial planning.

All sessions of the Community Conversations series are open to the public and are provided at no cost to attend. The first four sessions will be held at Eastland Career Center, inside the Engineering Technologies Center. The final session in May will be held virtually.

“We created Community Conversations to inform our community and families about relevant topics that may impact our students as they prepare for their next E,” said Dwight Carter, Director of Student Support Systems and organizer of the Community Conversation series. “The more we learn about these topics, the better equipped we are to have honest conversations with them about their challenges and opportunities, and to help them avoid or overcome barriers along the way.”

The full schedule of conversations can be found below. Additional details are available on our website, www.EastlandFairfield.com/communityconversations
