As February came to a close, so too did the regional round of competitions for the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) career technical student organization. Eastland-Fairfield Career & Technical Schools and Eastland Career Center served as a proud host for one of the two sites of this year’s regional competition. In addition to the honor of hosting, 14 Eastland-Fairfield Culinary Academy students qualified to compete at the state level while 22 placed in their respective events.
On February 19, the Region 3 competition began at Columbus State Community College and over the following weekend, Eastland Career Center welcomed a host of neighboring career technical schools and its students for the Career Development events. While results of the competition were released that afternoon, the decision of who qualified for state competition was not announced until Monday, March 14.
Below is a complete list of Eastland-Fairfield students and the results from their competition. Those that qualify for state competition will take part in their event at Columbus State’s Mitchell Hall on April 23, 2022.
In addition, five juniors from the Culinary Arts Academy will be interviewing for regional or state executive council positions. Training is currently underway and interviews for those positions will follow on April 9. Those students are: Hallie Roberts (Amanda-Clearcreek), Bethany Engle (Canal Winchester), Debora Kawogo (Reynoldsburg-BELL), Javon McDonald (Pickerington North), and Zion Williams (Pickerington Central).
