Doctor's orders.

If you have a passion for helping others, consider a Health Technologies career. Students gain an overview of the health care field, including body mechanics, infection control and blood borne pathogens, legal issues and communication, therapeutic nutrition, personal care, wellness and disease process, phlebotomy, and advanced nursing skills. With this cross-training of skills, students have the opportunity to work as a entry-level caregiver in a variety of health care settings including hospitals.

Successful students receive the training required by the State of Ohio for a state tested Nurse’s Aide (STNA), as well as Red Cross certifications in First Aid, CPR, and Bloodborne Pathogens training. Options are available to earn a childcare provider certificate and participate in work based learning.

Students interested in this program should have a strong science foundation. College preparatory coursework and the completion of Algebra I by the start of the program is recommended.
